Post Malone postpones London concerts over Tube strikes – after Coldplay also axed gigs due to walkouts

Rapper Post Malone has been “forced” to postpone his London concerts due to the planned Tube strikes.

The Better Now singer, 30, said he had to reschedule the two gigs, due to be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London because the industrial action would make it "impossible" for fans to get to and from the event.

The first show, due to be held this Sunday, has been moved to Saturday, September 20.

The second gig, set to be performed on Monday next week, has also been moved 13 days later to Sunday, September 21.

Show organisers Live Nation said on X: “We’re sorry to announce that, due to planned strikes on the London Underground, we’ve been forced to reschedule the two Post Malone concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to get people to the concert and home again safely, and therefore no event licence can be granted for the nights of 7th and 8th September.”

Refunds are available for those who cannot attend the new dates.

“Any ticket holders who are unable to attend their rescheduled show can get a full refund on their ticket, and are requested to contact their point of purchase before 10am BST on Monday 8th September,” Live Nation explained, with refunds sent out within 14 to 21 days.

Any returned tickets will then be put on general sale at 10am BST on Tuesday, September 9, via Ticketmaster.

Transport for London said on Friday afternoon that the strikes beginning on Sunday remain on – but it said there was still time for the RMT to call off the walkout.

RMT members are due to launch a “rolling” strike over pay and working conditions, with most services ending at about 6pm on Sunday and “little or no Tube service” across the London Underground between Monday and Thursday.

Post Malone’s rescheduled gigs come just days after Coldplay moved the final two dates of their 10-show run at Wembley stadium due to the strikes.

The Chris Martin-fronted band said the strikes have made it “impossible” for the gigs to go ahead on September 7 and 8.

The group confirmed the show on September 7 will move forward to September 6 and the concert on September 8 will be pushed back to September 12.

They added: “We’re very sorry for the inevitable disappointment, frustration and inconvenience that this situation causes.”

Furious fans branded the news a “financial disaster” and blasted the group for failing to let them know sooner about the new dates.

One raged on X: “We were coming from Ireland and had flights etc booked for concert. Have had to cancel now and lie the loss of the cost of the flights.

“Not really good enough and very disappointed with the lateness of this announcement.”

Another wrote on Instagram: “They could have let us know sooner than a week before the event!”
