Pontus Jansson gives backing to Watkins and Benrahma Premier League moves after Leeds links

Pontus Jansson has given his backing to Premier League moves for Ollie Watkins, Said Benrahma and Bryan Mbeumo.

The trio have been in superb form for Brentford this season and have all attracted interest from Premier League clubs ahead of the Bees' play-off final against Fulham.

Following Leeds United's promotion back to the top flight, the Whites have been linked with moves for Watkins and Benrahma as they try to shape Marcelo Bielsa's squad for their return to the Premier League.

Former Whites defender Jansson says all three players will be playing Premier League football at some point in the near future, regardless of whether the Bees win promotion or not.

Speaking to Football.London, Jansson predicted big transfer moves for the trio following their form this season which has seen them contribute 59 goals between them.

He said: "All of them three will play in big, big clubs, hopefully with us in the Premier League.

"If not, in big, big clubs in the world in the coming years.

"Said, the things he can do with the ball you can’t dream about. It’s unbelievable and, like with Ollie, the way he works for the team is unbelievable.

"And of course he scores goals.

"Fantastic player with the ball, but how he works for the team sets the standard in every game.

"Bryan is probably going to be better than both of them in the future because he has such talent."

Many Leeds fans noticed how Jansson stormed off the pitch after the Bees' play-off semi-final victory over Swansea City, angry at himself due to a late mistake that had allowed Rhian Brewster to score and set up a nervy finish.

Jansson explained, as captain, he feels an extra pressure not to show emotion, but he was frustrated to have blotted his copybook in an otherwise excellent performance.

He said: "There were so many things going through my head. Especially as a captain.

"When you make a mistake you have to bounce it off and go out and lead by example again.

"When I lead I want to do it by example and it is always tough to make a mistake and then scream again and lead others.

"I did it quite well, but after the game I was so annoyed and irritated with myself. I just needed two or three minutes and after that I was happy and ready for the final. It was quite emotional."
