Pollok Park drama as emergency services respond to reports of a 'person in the water'

Police, fire and ambulance services are reacting to an incident in Glasgow's south side.

Emergency services have rushed to Pollok Park after reports of someone in the water.

Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service are all at the scene.

Eyewitness reports suggest a police helicopter is also in the vicinity while locals have described seeing a rescue boat searching the river.

Police have confirmed emergency services are in attendance over concerns for a person in the water.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.10pm on Tuesday, 30 June, 2020, police responded to a report of a concern for a person in the water at Pollok Country Park, Glasgow.

“Emergency services are currently in attendance.”
