Police update on woman stabbed in street after fight

Police have issued an update after a woman was stabbed in Bootle yesterday.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, was stabbed after a fight on Abbott Drive, at around 1.30pm on Tuesday, April 4. Police and paramedics attended the scene after reports four youths were fighting and a woman was stabbed.

The woman was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Officers have now confirmed that she has been released from hospital.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm officers are currently in attendance in Bootle on, Tuesday 4 April. At around 1.30pm, we received a report of four youths fighting on Abbott Drive, and one woman was stabbed with a knife.

"Ambulance attended and has taken her to hospital with injuries which are not life threatening. Officers are currently at the scene to establish the circumstances and a cordon is in place.

"We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 482 of 4 April."
