Police have created a dispersal zone across parts of Liverpool after an illegal party in the area.
Police found alcohol and gas cannisters in Croxteth Park woods earlier this month after a group of young people gathered for a unlicensed event.
Officers were called out to the woods at around 10.45pm on the night of June 6 following reports of an illegal gathering. By the time they arrived the youngsters had moved on.
A local man took photographs of the scene. He said there was evidence of drug use with hundreds of metal gas canisters were left on the ground, suggesting that nitrous oxide, nicknamed "hippy crack", had been taken.
Police have now created a dispersal zone across parts of Croxteth, West Derby and Dovecot. Police will have the power to disperse groups of people in the area. If a person refuses to leave - or returns while the zone is still in place - they will have committed an offence and could be arrested
The zone extends to Croxteth Hall Lane, Princess Drive, Liverpool Road, East Prescott Road, Dovecot Ave, Campbell Dr, Thingwall Hall Dr, Thomas Dr, Queens Drive, Muirhead Ave, Muirhead Ave East, Oak Lane, and all of Croxteth Park
The zone also extends to paths, bridle ways, car parks, parks, and public spaces in the area.
There has been growing concern about raves and parties on Merseyside during a time when people are advised to avoid social gatherings to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Police have also clamped down on young people gathering at night on Sefton's beaches
