Police statement after break-in at Nottingham's Harvey Hadden Sports Village

A window was smashed and an office was searched during a break-in at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham. Police were notified of incident at the Bilborough centre in Wigman Road at around 10pm on Sunday, March 27.

Officers found that a window had been smashed to gain entry to the premises and an office had been searched. No-one was found in the building and nothing had been taken, say Nottinghamshire Police, who have launched a burglary investigation.

Inspector Gordon Fenwick said: “Police were called to Wigman Road, in Bilborough, at around 10pm on Sunday 27 March 2022, following reports that a break-in was taking place at Harvey Hadden Sports Village. After searching the scene, officers discovered that a window had been smashed to gain entry and an office had been searched.

"Nothing was taken during the incident, while nobody was found inside the building. A crime of burglary has been recorded and police are investigating . Enquiries are ongoing, so we would urge anyone who has any information to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 677 of 27 March 2022.”

George Malcom, a 70-year-old resident on Wigman Road, said he had "no idea" about the break-in. "It’s a good sports centre and I don’t think that’s happened before," he said. "I didn’t see any police or hear anything about it."
