A Nottinghamshire Police officer has been dismissed without notice after he was found guilty of gross misconduct.
Police Sergeant Jon Flint answered the allegations during the three-day hearing at the force’s Headquarters at Sherwood Lodge in Arnold.
The hearing was concluded on Thursday November 7.
The panel found 12 of the 13 allegations proven in relation to the officer breaching the expected standards of professional behaviour in respect of his dealings with a resident at her home on April 24, 2017.
The officer had previously been dismissed following an earlier hearing on January 16, 2019 before he was reinstated following a Police Appeal Tribunal on August 29.
The independent panel which sat this week recommended the officer’s dismissal, with the officer also being added to the College of Policing’s barred list in order to prohibit him from working within policing in future.
Nottinghamshire Police Chief Constable, Craig Guildford, said: “The communities we serve rightly expect the very highest standards of professional behaviour from their local police, which is an expectation I absolutely share.
“Where reports are made of concerns, the public are right to expect that these cases will be investigated thoroughly and we respect the independent panel’s findings in this case.
“I am confident that they have reached the right conclusion after the panel found the officer to be aggressive and having used unlawful force after unlawfully entering the property.”
