JACKSONVILLE, Fla. _ As the search for two missing Westside Jacksonville children enters its third day, police say they now want to talk to a man in an older white, four-door vehicle playing children's music.
Speaking to reporters as over 100 police officers, firefighters and staff from other agencies continued to look for 6-year-old Braxton Williams and 5-year-old sister Bri'ya, Chief T.K. Waters said community tips lead them to want to speak to its white male driver.
"The information we have been receiving is that he has been playing loud children's music," Waters said. "We are searching for that vehicle because we would like to ask that individual some questions. ... It was seen in this neighborhood."
The two children were last seen shortly after noon Sunday playing in front of their home in a mobile home community in the 10200 block of West Beaver Street. After searching themselves, their parents called in a missing persons report to police about an hour later, the sheriff's office said.
Police officers and firefighters searched Sunday night, upward of 150 personnel on scene by Monday, police said.
As of Tuesday, 430 homes had been searched in the area, helicopters, dogs and others looking over a 130 acres, including 20 bodies of water, Waters said.
"We are continuing to look and we appreciate all of the public's assistance," Waters said. " We are asking them to continue to help us. We are concerned."
Waters did not know what connection the white 4 door vehicle had to the case, or whether it was a van or car. And he said investigators "still don't know" if the children were kidnapped or wandered off as they "look at every possibility." Waters added the parents are still cooperating with the investigation.
