Police seal off Leeds Grand Theatre after serious sexual assault

Police are appealing for information after a person was the victim of a serious sex assault close to Leeds Grand Theatre.

The theatre on New Briggate was sealed off by police on Sunday, November 6 after the force received a report of a serious sexual assault at 5.06pm. Police located the victim, who is now being supported by specialist officers.

Detectives are still currently investigating the scene. Police are urging anyone with any information to come forward.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "At 5.06am on Sunday 6 October, police received a third party report regarding an alleged serious sexual assault on New Briggate, Leeds. A scene was located, and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers.

"Investigations remain ongoing by Leeds District Safeguarding detectives today."
