An investigation has been launched after a woman was attacked in Tameside .
Police have sealed off an area close to Dukinfield Cricket Club.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to the scene at around 3am on Monday following reports of an assault.
It's understood the incident took place in the area around Underwood Street and Chapel Street.
Forensic investigators are on scene, and working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding what happened.
The victim, whose age has not yet been released, is undergoing medical treatment.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-changing or threatening.
GMP said: "We are responding to reports that a lady has been assaulted in that area.
"It is believed to have taken place at around 3am.
"CSI are in the area now, and officers are trying to establish the exact location and circumstances of the incident."
