Police are dealing with an ongoing incident on the M8 motorway in Glasgow.
Drivers have been advised to be aware of delays as the road is currently closed in one direction due to an ongoing police incident.
Glasgow Live report that the motorway is closed eastbound between Junction 12 (Cumbernauld Road Interchange) and Junction 11 (Stepps Road Interchange) as a result of the incident.
Traffic Scotland confirmed news of the closure of the M8 via Twitter around 6:50pm this evening.
Traffic is reported to be queuing back from Junction 13 (Provan Interchange).
They tweeted: "The M8 is closed eastbound at Junction 12 due to a police incident."
Police have subsequently confirmed that the closure is in place as a result of a concern for a person.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 6.35pm on Friday 7 May to a report of concern for a person on a bridge over M8 near Gartcraig Road, Glasgow.
"A closure is in place on the eastbound carriageway of the M8 and officers are at the scene. "
