Police race to scene after gun fire reported in Glasgow

A police investigation has been launched after a gun was fired in the Bearsden area of Glasgow in the early hours of this morning.

Officers raced to the scene after receiving reports at 5.30am.

Families travelling to nearby Killermont Primary and Nursery this morning were confronted with police tape around a stretch of Rannoch Drive, where the shot was heard.

The school tweeted: "School and nurseryopen as normal today. Road access to the school is restricted as the top end of Rannoch Drive is currently closed. Lane open as normal. Please allow extra time if you are driving."

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police received reports of a firearm being discharged in Rannoch Drive. No one was injured and enquiries are ongoing."
