A man was rushed to hospital for treatment after being attacked with a weapon on a street in Paisley.
The ‘terrifying’ incident occurred on West Buchanan Place between 1am and 3am on Thursday, June 10.
A 42-year-old suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment before being released.
Officers are now hunting his attacker who was dressed all in black at the time.
Detective Constable Ashley O'Neill from Paisley CID said: "Thankfully the man’s injuries were not life threatening, but this has been a terrifying incident.
“Anyone who was in the area at time of the incident or who has any knowledge of the assault can contact us via 101 quoting reference number 0366 of the 10th of June 2021.
“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
Officers continue to investigate another assault in the town where a 28-year-old man was found seriously injured on Clarence Street in the early hours of this morning.
Detectives have not yet ruled out a link between the two incidents.
