Police are investigating an alleged spiking incident in the House of Commons.
The victim was allegedly a woman who had her drink spiked in Stranger’s Bar in the Palace of Westminster in early January, according to reports.
The woman, a parliamentary researcher, alerted bar staff after allegedly having her drink spiked on the Parliamentary estate.
The incident is said to have occurred after the Christmas Parliamentary recess.
A Met spokesperson said: "Police received reports of an alleged spiking at an establishment in the House of Commons, on Tuesday, 7 January at around 18:30hrs.
"The investigation is ongoing and the victim is being supported by officers.
"There have been no arrests at this stage.”
A Parliament spokesman added: “We are aware of an incident which took place on the parliamentary estate in early January, which was reported to parliamentary security and is now being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service.”
“Anyone with information is asked to call, or 999 in an emergency.”
