AN officer was injured after police were pelted with glass bottles at a wild party at Eleebana on Friday night.

Police were called to a large party at a home in Bridgewater Close about 10.15pm and arrived to find more than 100 people in the street.

Police said a number of people started throwing glass bottles at police. One officer was hit by a bottle, suffering minor injuries. A police vehicle was damaged.

More police were called to the scene to break up the party.

Police alleged one man harassed a police dog and attempted to incite the crowd into further attacks on officers.

The man, 21, was arrested after allegedly failing to comply with police directions. Police said he resisted before being restrained and taken to Belmont police station.

He was charged with fail to comply with direction, behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school, and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Belmont Local Court on Wednesday, April 8.
