Police officer keels over during lengthy Boris Johnson speech

This is the bizarre moment a police officer keeled over during a lengthy Boris Johnson press conference.

The under-pressure Prime Minister was speaking in front of new police cadets in Yorkshire after a series of humbling defeats in the House of Commons in recent days that have threatened to derail his fledgling Premiership.

Mr Johnson was taking questions at the end of his press conference when suddenly one of the officers behind him started to look uneasy.

As you can see in the clip, the female officer then suddenly dropped down out of shot during a particularly protracted answer from the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister's speech started more than an hour late, and officers had been standing on the stage for almost an hour by the time he finished

On seeing the officer collapse, Mr Johnson said: "I'm so sorry, that is a signal actively for me to wind up."

An uncomfortable looking Mr Johnson continued to speak and criticise Jeremy Corbyn for some time with the struggling police officer sat down beside him, before he eventually wrapped up the conference.

Mr Johnson was scheduled to speak at 4pm. Police officers assembled on the stage at around 4.45pm, but he did not arrive

Mr Johnson finally took to the stage at around 5.18pm, an hour and 20 minutes late.

He left the stage at around 5.40pm.
