A man killed in a two-vehicle crash in County Durham has been named by police.

Ethan Waller, 22, was a front seat passenger in a Dacia Sandero when it was involved in a collision with a van on Langley Lane near Burnhope on Saturday.

It is believed the vehicle was travelling along Langley Lane towards Fair View when it collided with the stationary unoccupied Iveco Daily.

Sadly Ethan, from Consett, County Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver and other passenger received minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9pm and the road was closed while a collision investigation took place.

Officers investigating the crash are appealing for any witnesses who might have seen what happened.

Enquiries are ongoing but if you have any information or dash cam footage, please call 101 and quote incident reference 466 of July 18.
