Police mock criminals after stumbling across £100,000 of cannabis

Police have seized around £100,000 worth of cannabis during a raid.

Officers from the Bury South division of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) took to social media to share an image of a number of vacuum-packed bags of cannabis on a living room floor. According to GMP, the drugs were found at a home in Whitefield.

In a Facebook post, a GMP spokesman wrote: "Somebody is going to be a bit upset.... A warrant was executed at an address in Whitefield this morning where approximately £100,000 worth of cannabis, vacuum packed and ready to go was discovered and seized.

"For or against the debate (which will no doubt now arise again) around legalising cannabis the police will continue to act on public led intelligence. If you have any information on crime in your area please report on 101 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

The discovery comes two weeks after police found another cannabis farm in Whitefield when plants, lighting and electrical equipment could be seen through the window of a home in Balmoral Avenue.

Lighting and electrical equipment, often used to maintain cannabis plants, could also be seen through the window.
