Police lock down Govanhill street as man found injured in Glasgow south side

A main road in Glasgow's south side is currently locked down by police due after a man was found injured.

A number of police cars and vans are parked on Butterbiggins Road in the Govanhill area of the city.

Police received reports of a man being injured at 5.55am this morning (Friday, October 15).

The man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

There is also a police cordon erected around the area.

Two police officers are stationed at the scene as investigations are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of a man having been found injured on Butterbiggins Road in Glasgow around 5.55am on Friday, 15 October, 2021.

"The man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. The road is closed and officers remain at the scene.”
