Police launch probe after recovery truck crash on major Scots road

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a road crash on a major Scots road.

The incident occurred on the A9 at Daviot at the start of the northbound carriageway.

It took place at around 3pm on Tuesday August 3 and involved a white Iveco Daily recovery vehicle.

Police Scotland officers are still carrying out enquiries in order to determine the circumstances of the collision.

Anyone with information, particularly those who observed the vehicle or may have dash cam footage, are being asked to get in touch.

Police Constable Kenneth Macleod of the Highland and Islands Road Policing Unit said: “We continue to carry out enquiries into the circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone who was driving in the area that witnessed the collision to please get in touch if they have not already done so.

"In particular we are keen to speak to anyone who observed the vehicle or who may have dash cam footage that can help with our investigation.

"If you can assist please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 1503 of Tuesday 3 August, 2021."
