Police issue update after boy, 17, arrested on suspicion of murder of Tyron Riley

A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Tyron Riley has been released pending further investigation, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed.

Tyron, a 31-year-old builder and dad known as 'Taz', was found dead shortly after midnight on December 27 in Clarendon Park in Salford. Police said he suffered serious injuries 'consistent with a stab wound' and was pronounced dead at the scene, resulting in the launch of a murder investigation.

A teenage male was arrested on suspicion of his murder, police said on Monday (January 2). He has since been released from custody as the murder probe continues, a spokesperson for the force said today.

Following his death, Tyron's family paid tribute to 'a much-loved son, dad, grandson and brother'. They said they would miss his 'huge cheeky smile' and 'great sense of humour', adding he was a 'super-talented builder' who would be 'missed deeply'.

In a tribute issued through GMP, his mother Nicola and family said: "Tyron Grech Riley known as Taz was a very much-loved son, dad, grandson and brother, our hearts are in a million pieces. You were a devoted dad, super talented builder and could turn your hand to anything.

"You loved nothing more than sending us a million and one photos of the job from start to finish and always said 'I'm ace me aren't a?' We were always so proud.
