Police investigation after bodies of two men found inside Sunderland home

An investigation is under way after the bodies of two men were found inside a home in Sunderland.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Thursday afternoon after a report of concern for two males.

Officers attended the home on Springwell Road and made the discovery.

Forensic teams were reportedly in attendance on Thursday and Friday as the investigation continued.

Northumbria Police are treating the deaths as "unexplained", it has been reported.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Shortly after 3pm yesterday (Thursday) we received a report of concern for two males inside an address on Springwell Road, Sunderland.

“Emergency services attended and sadly found the bodies of two men inside. Their deaths are currently being treated as unexplained with enquiries ongoing.

“Their next of kin have been notified. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 627 250221.”

Northumbria Police were contacted for further comment on Friday evening.
