Police investigating 'unexplained' death of unidentified man found in Milngavie park

Police are trying to identify a man found dead at a park and popular walking spot in Milngavie.

Emergency services were called to Allander Park around 11.30am on Thursday morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

Police are trying to establish the identity of the man, who was found near to popular walking route the West Highland Way.

The area has been cordoned off while investigations into the death are carried out.

Uniformed officers and CID are also on patrol on neighbouring streets.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 11.30am on Thursday, 4 June, 2020 officers were called to Allander Park in Milngavie. 

"Police and ambulance attended and a man has been pronounced dead.  The area has been cordoned off and officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish more information surrounding the death and establish his identity. 

"A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however it is currently being treated as unexplained.  A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
