Man charged with murder following incident in east Brisbane

Inspector Geoff Acreman said the man could not be saved. (ABC News)

A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder following an incident in Brisbane's east yesterday.

A 59-year-old man was found unresponsive by police at an Alster Street Address just before 2:00pm during a welfare check.

Emergency services tried to revive the man but he could not be saved.

The 29-year-old man is set to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Inspector Geoffrey Acreman said investigations were continuing.

"They are known to each other so it's not a situation where the neighbours need to be concerned in this particular matter, and the investigation will identify the circumstances leading to the man's death" Inspector Acreman said.
