Police ‘increasingly concerned’ for missing pensioner as search enters fifth week

Police investigating the disappearance of a missing pensioner have expressed their "increasing concern" as the search to find him enters into a fifth week. Roger Simons vanished from his home in Glynneath on Wednesday, May 18, and he hasn't been seen since. Officers are now hoping a renewed appeal to the public will help assist them in their quest to find him.

Officers have described the 78-year-old as being around six foot tall, and have added that he usually wears a hat and a high-vis jacket, which can be seen in the photo which has been released of him to accompany the appeal. Get stories like this straight to your inbox with our newsletters.

A statement from South Wales Police read: "Roger Simons hasn't been seen for almost five weeks. Officers investigating the disappearance of a Glynneath man are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

"Roger Simons, who is 78 years old, was reported missing from his home on Wednesday, May 18, almost five weeks ago, and has not been seen since. He is described as being of slight build, about six feet tall and he usually wears a baseball or bobble hat and often wears a high-vis jacket. If you have seen him or know where he may be please contact us and quote reference *166072."
