Police hunt thug who forced his way into man's West Lothian home and robbed him in broad daylight

Police are hunting a thug who forced his way into a 61-year-old man’s home and robbed him in broad daylight.

Detectives in Livingston are appealing for information after a 61-year-old man was robbed within his home in Beechwood Road, Blackburn yesterday.

Around 9.50am on Thursday morning, the suspect gained access to the house. He threatened the householder and demanded money then later made off with a mobile phone.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his late 20s to 30s, around 6ft 2ins in height and of medium build with short, dark-coloured hair. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and carrying a flat triangular-shaped bag with white writing on it.

Detective Constable Jennifer Roger said: “This was a very frightening experience for the 61-year-old man who should be able to feel safe in his own home. Thankfully he was not injured during this incident but the suspect must be caught.

“If you recognise his description or you were in the area of Beechwood Road on Thursday morning and saw anyone acting suspiciously, please contact police. Anyone with information that may assist this investigation should contact 101 with reference number 0973 of 2 June. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
