Police hunt for thug who punched 62-year-old man

A yob punched a man in the face as he stood in his front garden in an unprovoked attack.

Police say the 62-year-old victim sustained bruising to his face in the mindless assault.

He was standing in his front garden, in McClue Road, Renfrew, at around 3pm on Friday when he became embroiled in an argument with another man.

The suspect then lunged forward and hit him before making off.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman appealed for witnesses to come forward.

She said: “A 62-year-old man was assaulted by another male in the front garden. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.”
