Police hunt attackers 46 days after Canberra Centre bashing

Six weeks after a brutal bashing in one of Canberra's busiest shopping centres, three attackers are still at large.

CCTV footage captured a young man being thrown to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked in the Canberra Centre on Saturday, June 10.

The victim is seen cowering on the floor, suffering facial injuries, as the offenders walk away.

The three attackers were with four other men, most of whom appeared to be wearing similar clothing.

Police described all group members as about 20 years old.

Two of the three men were wearing a dark blue shirt and dark pants with trimmed facial hair, but one was described as having a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.

The third man was wearing a light coloured shirt and black pants.

ACT Policing only released information about the attack today, 46 days after they were notified.

"Police are now releasing CCTV footage of the incident and seeking the public's assistance to identify three offenders and four witnesses," a statement said.

It is not known why the victim was targetted.
