Police hunt arsonist who set fire to £16,000 Mini Cooper

Police are investigating a incident where a Mini Cooper was set on fire.

The incident is understood to have been reported in the early hours of Wednesday, June 10.

According to Gwent Police, the fire happened in Gilwern, near the River Usk.

A picture from the scene shows the front third of the car untouched by the blaze. However the roof, boot, seats and back wheels have been completely destroyed by the fire. 

In a statement, a spokesman for the force said: "A Mini Cooper was set alight on Oak Tree Lane, Gilwern, on Wednesday, June 10. The incident was reported at 1.31am.

"The investigation is still ongoing, anyone with any information please contact 101 Quoting 2000203417."
