A police helicopter chase was sparked by a stolen car being driven down the M62
Merseyside Police were called to reports of a vehicle stolen from an address in Warrington on November 5. At around 4.30am on Monday November 7, an officer saw a car matching the description of the stolen vehicle being driven on the M62 near junction six.
A helicopter from the National Police Air Service followed the vehicle onto Waterland Lane, St Helens, where it was abandoned. Two men were located and arrested nearby on Fleet Lane.

A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving whilst disqualified and theft of a motor vehicle. A 29-year-old man was also arrested, on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal and going equipped for burglary.
Both men remain in police custody. Police are now appealing for any information regarding the burglary.
Inspector Beth Blake said: “Burglaries can have a profound impact on victims and the local community and the arrests we have made show that where we receive reports of burglary from the communities affected, we will act.
“I would continue to urge anyone who has information in connection to this burglary to please get in touch.
“Information from the community is vital so we can bring the offenders to justice, so please keep coming forward and we will take action.”
