Police give update after woman found dead in Nottinghamshire house

Detectives investigating the discovery of a woman's body in a house have confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency services were called to an address in Green Vale, Farnsfield, Newark, shortly before 2.30pm on Friday afternoon (New Year's Day).

A cordon had been in place in the house since Friday January 1 and it is due to be lifted on Sunday January 3.

Detective Inspector Rich Monk, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Our investigations into this incident have concluded the woman’s death was not suspicious. Our sympathies are with her family at this sad time.

“I'd like to thank the local community for their cooperation while officers and detectives worked to establish the circumstances of this incident.”
