Police were called to a property in Edinburgh last night (29 October) after 30 people were discovered at an illegal flat party.
Officers were called to the home on Dundonald Street in the early hours of this morning, to discover a large group of young people "hiding in the kitchen".
Entering into someone else's house is currently banned under the current coronavirus restrictions, unless for urgent or essential purposes.
At present, only six people from up to two different households can meet outside of their homes as long as social distancing is enforced.
According to one eyewitness, guests at the party were seen coming in and out of the tenement building "drunk" and "shouting", adding:
"They didn’t even bother to be quiet going up the stairs.
"The police told me they are inundated with having to deal with these incidents, many of the callouts are to student parties and that it is clear that they are simply not taking Covid seriously."

Police Scotland told Edinburgh Live that officers were called to the party, after which the guests were sent home and two people were issued with fixed penalty notices.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to complaints of a large gathering at a property on Dundonald Street, Edinburgh just before 1.10am this morning (Friday 30 October 2020).
“Two people were issued with Fixed Penalty Notices.”
