Police fire shots at gunmen after they see them open fire in Englewood

Police officers fired shots at two gunmen who were shooting towards a group of people Sunday in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers saw two males firing into a group of people about 2:28 a.m. in the 200 block of West 63rd Street and discharged their weapons but did not strike the shooters, Chicago police said.

The males ran off and got into a black SUV about a block away in the 6400 block of South Yale Avenue, police said.

No injuries were reported, and two weapons were recovered on Yale, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
