Police find suspected cannabis plants during search warrant on Tameside property

Officers discovered a grow believed to be cannabis while conducting a search on a property in Tameside.

On Friday (May 28), police visited a property on Kings Street in Droylsden with a drugs warrant.

Inside the property, officers discovered a number of potted plants believed to be cannabis.

The search was conducted by the Droylsden East neighbourhood team alongside police officers and the Tameside District Tasking Team.

Greater Manchester Police revealed brief details of the incident on its Tameside South & West Facebook page on Saturday morning.

Posting a picture of the plants discovered, the force made no mention of any arrests but said that enquiries were ongoing to identify those involved.

In a joking comment, GMP suggested the ‘green-fingered gardeners’ involved should visit their local police station to answer a few questions.

GMP shared a photo of the set-up at the property in Droylsden (GMP)

The GMP Tameside wrote: “On the morning of Friday 28th May 2021 your Droylsden East neighbourhood team were assisted by officers and Tameside DTT team who conducted a drugs warrant on a property on Kings Street, Droylsden.

“The warrant was positive , the investigation is still ongoing to locate the occupant(s).

“If you are the "GREEN" fingered gardener or owner of this grow please pack an overnight bag and visit your local police station, officers will like to ask you a few questions.”

Anyone with information can contact GMP on 101 or via their website.
