Police drone unit called to Lady Bay after reports of 'man acting suspiciously'

Police were seen searching an area of West Bridgford using the newly launched drone unit.

Nottinghamshire Police say they were called to reports of a man acting suspiciously near a property in Melbourne Road, West Bridgford.

The incident happened at around 5.20pm on Thursday, January 9.

Witnesses said there were a number of officers conducting searches and the drone was seen overhead.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Nottinghamshire Police received a call just after 5.20pm today reporting a man acting suspiciously around a property in Melbourne Road, West Bridgford.

"Officers attended the address and conducted a search with the help of the new police drone.

"Nothing suspicious was found and the officers have now left the area."
