Police dog Tessa tracks down three suspects 'hiding in garden'

A police dog has helped track down three suspects who were allegedly hiding in a garden in the Lambeg area today.

Police were called to the Lambeg/Hilden area earlier today after receiving reports that numerous parked cars had been damaged.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers pursued three males with the help of PD Tessa.

After a search of the area the smart pooch located the men allegedly hiding in a garden and they were subsequently arrested.

All three remain in police custody and are assisting officers with their enquiries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "This morning officers in Lisburn were assisted by Police Dog Tessa after reports of criminal damage to numerous parked vehicles.

"Police responded to the area of Hilden/Lambeg and pursued three males suspected to be involved. With the help of PD Tessa all three males were located hiding in gardens, subsequently arrested and are currently assisting police with enquiries.

"I think PD Tessa deserves a very big treat after all her hard work this morning!

"Should you have witnessed anything suspicious in the area this morning, please get in touch with police in Lisburn station on 101 quoting serial 434 of June 21."
