Police discover body of man next to popular Scots live music venue

A man has been found dead next to a popular live music venue in the centre of Dundee.

A member of the public alerted cops around 12.30pm yesterday, Wednesday June 21, after concern for the welfare of a man at an address in the city's North Lindsay Street, next to Beat Generator.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, however, the 44-year-old was pronounced dead shortly after. Police said the man's death is being treated as "unexplained" but is not thought to be suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a person on North Lindsay Street, Dundee, around 12.35pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

“Officers attended and a 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
