Police cordoned off a road for hours following a serious crash.
Officers were called to North Moor Lane in Ormskirk at around 9.30am today. Police described the incident as "serious" in a statement on Facebook.
Both ends of North Moor Lane, at the junctions of Halsall Road and Asmall Lane, were cordoned off by police. When the ECHO attended the scene, a number of drivers had to turn around as they could not access the road.

Police urged people to avoid the area and it is understood that North Moor Lane is still closed, six hours after the incident. In a statement on Facebook, a spokesperson for Ormskirk and Rural West Lancs Police said: "We are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on North Moor Lane, Ormskirk. The road is currently closed and we would ask motorists to avoid the area.
"The closure will be in place for some time. We will update you when we can. Anyone witnesses or anybody with footage which could assist our investigation is asked to email forcecontrolroom@lancashire.police.uk or ring 101, quoting log 303 of October 17, 2022."
It is unclear the extent of injuries and how many cars were involved in the crash. Lancashire Police and North West Ambulance Service were contacted for a statement regarding this crash.
