Police cordon near Retford Morrisons supermarket after man glassed in argument

Police cordoned off an area near a Morrisons supermarket after a man was glassed in an argument that got out of hand.

Lincolnshire Live reports how police officers were called to the incident in Moorgate, in Retford, at around 8.15pm on Friday evening, October 29.

A cordon was put up near to the Morrisons store in Idle Valley Road.

At this stage nobody has been arrested in connection with the attack.

The man suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Detective constable Emma Dalton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Enquiries are continuing into the incident, which we believe took place following an argument that escalated."

Witnesses, or anyone with video footage of what happened, are asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 759 of Friday, October 29.

The cordon was put up initially while officers carried out an investigation but was subsequently lifted.
