Northumbria Police closed off a road earlier today after a car collided with a barrier.
Officers received a report of a one vehicle collision on the A1 northbound at junction 67 near Team Valley on Thursday at around 3.15pm.
Police confirmed that a silver Skoda had been travelling northbound when it collided with a barrier.
Emergency services were called to the scene but it is believed the driver did not sustain any injuries.
The road was temporarily blocked with traffic being diverted.
The road has since reopened.
A Force spokesperson said: “Shortly after 3.15pm today we received a report of a one vehicle collision on the A1 northbound at junction 67 near the Team Valley.
“It was reported that a silver Skoda had been travelling northbound when it collided with a barrier.
“Officers and emergency services attended the scene but the driver was not believed to have sustained any injuries.
“Traffic was temporarily diverted while the lanes were blocked, but the road has since reopened.”
