Police catch 30 youths drinking and taking drugs at sports complex

Around 30 youths have been spotted drinking and taking drugs at a cricket ground in Bolton.

Police were called to reports of anti-social behaviour at Eagley Sports Complex last night, according to a spokesman for the Bolton North division of Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

Officers found a large group of youths flouting lockdown and under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Today, police have visited the homes of some of the youths involved to warn them of the consequences of breaching COVID-19 legislation and behaving anti-socially.

Just before 5pm, a spokesman for GMP Bolton North confirmed that they will be patrolling Eagley Sports Complex throughout the evening and night, as well as other areas such as Bromley Cross, Astley Bridge, and Smithills.

To report anti-social behaviour ring 101 or use the live chat on the GMP website.
