Police bust illegal casino in south Delhi farm house, Rs 8 lakh in cash seized

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch's Inter-State Cell successfully dismantled an illicit "casino" operating in a farm house located in Dera Village, South Delhi, officials said.

The officials uncovered the presence of 47 individuals, including 5 organizers, participating in unlawful gambling activities on the premises.

They seized cash amounting to Rs 8.06 lakhs, casino tables, casino tokens, illegal liquor, flavored hookahs, and a music system during the operation.

The police initiated the operation based on information they received regarding an illegal casino operating in proximity to Chhatarpur, Delhi. The investigation was further advanced through a combination of human intelligence and technical analysis.

A well-executed raid was carried out at the farmhouse in Dera Village, near Chhatarpur, where the raiding team discovered four casino tables in use, surrounded by players engaged in various games.

Upon the arrival of the law enforcement, the players hastily fled, abandoning their cash, playing cards, and tokens left behind on the tables.

In the subsequent search, authorities also uncovered four cartons of beer and seven bottles of whisky.

The police confiscated a sum of Rs 5 lakhs in cash from an individual named Mithun Taneja, along with an additional Rs 2.5 lakhs from another person. It was determined that the money was being utilized for betting purposes.
