Police stormed a house in search of a wanted man following a suspected arson attack.

The raid came following a fire at a flat on Festival Avenue in Orford, Warrington, on Saturday, June 18. Police were called to the scene by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service where it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

Police said the flat was unoccupied at the time the fire began and the incident is being investigated as arson. In the early hours of Monday, June 20, police carried out a raid in search of a man who was wanted in connection with the incident.
