A man has been arrested after police received reports about a threat to burn down a house.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Simon Boyles, said: "This was an isolated incident where all parties are known to each other and I'd like to reassure residents that there is no threat to the wider public.

"However, we take threats like this really seriously and I’m glad that this incident was brought to our attention which enabled us to quickly act on it.

"The man remains in custody while we carry out all the relevant enquiries in relation to the threats that have been made.

"We follow up any piece of intelligence or information that we receive and work proactively to protect people from harm."

Nottinghamshire Police says it has been working proactively to prevent crime before it happens by investing in specialist policing teams, such as Operation Reacher, and other front-line officers and detectives.

The force is continuing to encourage people to report incidents of violence and threats of violence on 101.
