Counter-terrorism officers have arrested a man for an alleged terror offence.
Scotland Yard said a 21-year-old man had been arrested in Hackney, east London, at 6am on Wednesday.
He was arrested for allegedly helping someone else commit or engage in a terrorist act, police said. This can include helping someone to travel overseas for the purposes of terrorism.
Detectives are investigating whether the alleged offence has links to Syria, which has been a common theme of a string of arrests in recent weeks, in and around London.
Police could not immediately say who the arrested man is alleged to have helped, and whether that person was also being looked for.
In a statement, police said: “A 21-year-old man was arrested at around 6am on Wednesday 29 October at a residential address in Hackney.”
