Police appeal after teenager is assaulted in Hamilton

Police are this week appealing for witnesses after a 15-year-old boy was assaulted with intent to rob in Hamilton.

The incident happened on Whitehill Road around 4pm on Tuesday, August 20.

A man approached the boy demanded his phone before struggling with him and running off.

The thug is described as white, around 5ft 8ins, approximately 30-years-old with dark hair, slim build and a local accent. He was wearing a pale blue jacket with dark bottoms.

Detective Constable Gary Milligan, of Cambuslang CID, said:“The victim wasn’t injured but it was a frightening experience and we’re appealing for any passers-by, including drivers with dash cam footage, to contact us if they have any information about this incident.

“Similarly if anyone has seen someone fitting this description acting suspiciously around this time, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 2475 of August 20.”
