Police appeal after house was broken into in Milnathort on the same night as housebreaking in Kinross

A house was broken into in Milnathort on the same night as a housebreaking in nearby Kinross.

An attempt was made to gain entry to the house on South Street in Milnathort by removing a glass pane from a door.

The incident happened at some point between 3pm on Wednesday, February 19 and Thursday, February 20.

Officers investigating the incident say it does not appear full entry was gained to the property, and nothing has been reported missing.

However, this happened on the same night as a housebreaking in Avenue Road in Kinross.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “As you may be aware, we made an appeal last week relating to a housebreaking in Avenue Road, Kinross, which took place on the same night.

“We are not formally linking these crimes at the moment, but we would like to ask all residents in the Kinross and Milnathort area to be fully mindful of their home security.”

Officers are now appealing to members of the public who may have more information about the incident to come forward and help with their investigation.

Those with information which may be useful are asked to contact the division on 101 or speak to a police officer, quoting the crime reference number CR/5167/20.

Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
