A man almost had his wallet stolen after a brief struggle on the South Inch in Perth in the early hours of the morning.
The man was approached in the park by another man who distracted the victim by talking to him.
Fortunately, the victim’s wallet was recovered, however police officers investigating the incident are now looking for witnesses to come forward.
The incident happened at some point between 1.45am and 2am on Tuesday, July 23, officers hope someone may have seen it, adding it is possible a passer-by may have thought it was a fight rather than an ongoing theft, as the two men had a brief struggle.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Officers would like to trace a man described as white, in his early 20s, about 5’ 6’’ with blond hair, who was wearing a dark long-sleeved top, blue jeans and white trainers.
“He arrived on the inch in possession of a white bicycle but this was left behind when he ran off.
