Detectives have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with two assaults including one that left a woman with serious injuries.
They want to track down Skender Bucpapaj, 50, who they believe could be sleeeping rough and travelling around the capital on public transport.
His first victim was a woman who he attacked on September 22 leaving her requiring hospital treatment, such were the severity of her injuries.
Officers are also investigating another assault against a man on October 2 but he was not seriously injured.
Bucpapaj is believed to be mainly travelling around the Southwark, Croydon or Bromley areas.
Detective Inspector Sharad Verma, leading the investigation, said:“We need to speak to Bucpapaj urgently and would ask anyone who recognises him or knows where he is to contact us immediately.
“These attacks were particularly violent and have left the victims with serious injuries. We are doing all we can to find the person responsible and to ensure no further harm is caused.”
