Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's next Tera Raid is your first chance to catch Greninja

The event, scheduled for the end of January and the beginning of February is players first chance to catch a Greninja in the upcoming seven-star Tera Raid.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's next seven-star Tera raid will give players their first chance to fight and catch a Greninja in the popular Nintendo Switch game ( via Serebii )

The raid, scheduled for the end of the month, will feature a special version of the popular ninja-themed amphibian pokemon that will include the poison terra type instead of its usual water/dark type, and the Mightiest Mark, which shows that it was caught in the raid and not traded with another player.

Since Greninja is not part of Pokemon Scarlet and Violets Paldea Pokedex and players have not been able to catch one in-game until this event. Players will have two chances to catch the special poisonous pokemon. The first event runs from Friday, January 27 to Sunday, January 29. The seven-star Tera Raid will then run again from Friday, February 10 to Sunday February 12.

Four-star and five-star Tera Raid battle events will also take place from Friday, January 20 to Sunday, January 22. These will feature the balloon pokemon Driffloon in Pokemon Scarlet, and the ghost-type Mismagius in Pokemon Violet.

Dreaming of Paldean Greninja

Personally, I’m happy to see the hoppy little guy added to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and the poisonous twist sounds like something that could be really useful. Though it does make me hope that rather than just adding pokemon from other regions., we could get some seven-star raids that expand the Paldea Pokedex with more local variants of popular pokemon. Rather than just another addition to the national dex with 'I caught this' branded to its digital bum.

Rather than just poison terra type, I would have loved a Paldean Greninja that is a poison/dark type. Although I love new pokemon and am always happy to see fan favourites return in raids and special events, I’m a sucker for the regional types, and I want more of them on my Nintendo Switch.
